Worst Sports Fans

I hate Canadiens fans.

I can understand my home crowd boo'ing Komisarek, for leaving the team for a little difference in salary. I can understand my home crowd boo'ing a player like Brière, a local boy, for refusing to play here after being offered a huge contract.

But I can't accept that same crowd boo'ing Kovalev, who didn't choose to leave, who wanted to stay here.

I can't accept that same crowd boo'ing Guillaume Latendresse a week after being traded, as if he ever asked to be. Moreover he left reminding everyone just how much he loved the fans.

And I really can't accept how some dumbshits thought it was a good idea to boo Lecavalier, because he wasn't traded to Montreal during the summer.

At the very least they boo Shane Doan and rightfully so whenever he skates here. I'd even add my own to theirs if I'm there.
They boo any star player that isn't on their team. You could've just said that, would've been easier. <.<

Komisarek and Latendresse, the star players.

I dont think they ever boo'd Lecavalier before this season.

They certainly never ever boo'd Mario Lemieux.

Did anybody else see how, during the Eagles game, they threw snowballs at 49ers players in the endzone or was that just me?

No it definitely happened. Seriously that has to be up there on the biggest way to be douche bags list. I don't know what happened to those fans after they got escorted. Did they leave? If so that's really shitty for them. I mean seriously, some good old trash talking towards them is fine but seriously everyone just picks on them, thats some real class right there.

Although if you want dick hole fans, just look at any soccer team in countries that give two shits about it.

There were, and still are, the English football hooligans. The sort of groups whose primary aim is to start fights - often pre-organised against rivals, and away from the stadium itself nowadays to try and avoid the police. I don't know any specifics because I don't go to matches myself.
It was at its worst back in the 70s and 80s, with things like the http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1985_Kenilworth_Road_riot and http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Heysel_Stadium_disaster

From what I've heard, though, one of the biggest rivalries in the whole world is in Australia: Ford vs Holden.
Millwall and Leeds fans are bad for this.

Chill Murray

get well soon jacoby..
I'm going to echo the sentiment of Philly fans being really, really bad. I kinda want to go to an Isles/Flyers game in Philly (since it's only an hour away while i'm at school) but i'm not sure if i have enough of a deathwish to do so. Not to mention the Philly fans have a habit of burning and/or destroying things whether their team wins or loses.

I am awestruck, however, at the Rangers fans who show up to Islanders games just to boo the home team. Regardless of who is playing them (a mid-march matchup against Minnesota? I counted 15). A fun game my uncle and i like to play is "spot the douchebags".

As a New Yorker, this is the part of the post where i make my obligatory "Boston fans suck" statement.

Oh my god that is so horrible.

Akuchi, #Az refuses to take me to an Arsenal game when I go visit England...when your team plays them, take me please?<3

Haha, um, I would, but the Swans aren't in the same league as Arsenal (yet - watch this space, it's still a chance). I will of course go to an Arsenal game with you though!

toronto maple leafs fans are the best and worst at the same time.

On one hand they are the most loyal fans ever for sure, and when the leafs are winning, no one is partying harder.

On the other hand they are the most ignorant and uninformed bunch of idiots ever...any scrub player the leafs get is our new saviour, and they eat up everything the media says. There's always next year...
Agreeing with this entirely. I think a lot of this has to do with media, since both TSN and Sportsnet are based in Toronto, so the Leafs' success and woes are really scrutinized by the media. Sens fans suffer from the same syndrome, but fortunately I can safely say it's not to the same degree.

Another thing I hate about certain sports fans is when a national anthem is booed. Nothing is more disrespectful in my opinion. In the 2007 playoffs, I remember the Canadian anthem being booed by the fans in Pittsburg. It's obviously not an isolated incident, since it happens in Canada too, but I think it's just an awful thing to do.

Philly fans have riots whether they win or lose

Also, during the Tampa-Philly World Series, they poured beer on some Tampa children

lakers fans. They don't even know how to cheer for their team (disappearing in game 4 of the 08 finals) and are very disrespectful, not only to other fans, but to other teams and referees. For example when they through alot of foam fingers onto the court on their christmas day beatdown. There was a laker fan who posted on a board (not here) CONVINCED that the nba is rigged cause the lakers lost that 1 game due to referees, when they just got dominated every way possible. Then there's all the annoying kobe fans all over the world. If espn stopped their kobe lovefest maybe that would help that out some, kobe fanboys are the worst.

Well in my opinion the worst sports fans are the ones that switch teams based on who is winning. These bandwagon fans just jump from champion to champion, screaming "WOOOOO 16-0 PATRIOTS!" only to buy a Giants jersey at the end of the season.

I would have to say Boston fans. Most of them are jerks, assholes, etc. A large portion of them have no respect for other teams and are generally outrageous.
