Excadrill @ Normalium Z
Ability: Sand Rush
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Earthquake
- Iron Head
- Giga Impact
- Swords Dance
Excadrill has recently suffered from a rise in usage of hard counters to its typical Steelium Z set such as Rotom-W, Zapdos, and Pelipper. To combat this, a set dropping Rapid Spin and Steelium Z in favor of Giga Impact and Normalium Z has been popularized, as it breaks though these counters with a powerful Breakneck Blitz after a Swords Dance. To properly make use of the set, sand support is required; ergo, Tyranitar and Hippowdon are stellar teammates, as they can set sand and help to facilitate a sweep for Excadrill with Stealth Rock. Additionally, Celesteela is a big issue for this set and sand teams in general, so Pokemon like Heatran, Reuniclus, and Zapdos should be used to take advantage of Excadrill inviting it in.
