[OVERVIEW]

Jellicent is a great Pokemon in PU with an excellent defensive typing, helpful stats, and access to good utility moves such as Recover and Will-O-Wisp that allows it to stay healthy throughout the match and cripple Pokemon. Thanks to its bulk, it can also check prevalent foes such as Primeape and Alolan Sandslash. Additionally, Jellicent can run a potent Choice Specs set thanks to its powerful Water Spout and good dual STAB coverage, with Shadow Ball notably hitting Pokemon like Ferroseed, Gastrodon, and Poliwrath that resist or are immune to its Water-type attacks. Jellicent's useful Ghost typing also gives it a niche on hazard stacking teams, giving it a strong matchup against spinners like Hitmonchan and Alolan Sandslash, though both can cripple it with Toxic. Despite these attributes, Jellicent is very prone to residual damage, meaning that it can be worn down quite easily. Jellicent is also passive when used defensively, allowing offensive threats such as special Victreebel and Oricorio-E in for essentially no risk, while Choice Specs Jellicent is heavily reliant on prediction and can be exploited by threats like Jynx, Lurantis, and Dodrio easily once locked into an attack. Finally, Jellicent is also easily Pursuit trapped by Pokemon such as Stoutland and Skuntank.

[SET COMMENTS]

========

Hex is Jellicent's best STAB attack, turning into a 130 Base Power attack in conjunction with Will-O-Wisp or Toxic while dealing neutral damage against a majority of the tier. Scald is an option over Hex that can be more useful against Pokemon like Mudsdale, Stoutland, and Kangaskhan, but the power difference is not very notable against the Pokemon it hits harder, and Hex generally will be dishing out more damage. Taunt is used to stop setup sweepers such as Carracosta as well as to prevent other walls such as Quagsire and Gastrodon from recovering health or crippling Jellicent with Toxic. Will-O-Wisp is used to cripple physical attackers like Skuntank and Hitmonchan. Toxic can be used over Will-O-Wisp to cripple opposing walls like Eelektross and Cryogonal.

Set Details
========

Colbur Berry's damage reduction allows Jellicent to retaliate and cripple Dark-type Pokemon like Skuntank with Will-O-Wisp, as well as granting it a better matchup against Pokemon with Dark-type coverage like Gurdurr. Leftovers is an option over Colbur Berry, giving Jellicent passive recovery and making it less easily worn down by chip damage. Leftovers also gives Jellicent a bit more breathing room to use its other moves instead of Recover when it's low on HP. The Speed EVs allow Jellicent to outspeed maximum Speed Carracosta and cripple it with Taunt before it can use Shell Smash. Cursed Body generally is more useful than Water Absorb, allowing Jellicent to disable the moves of Choice-locked Pokemon like Stoutland and Pokemon such as Gurdurr and Kangaskhan, which only have one move to break Jellicent.

Usage Tips
========

This set is more defensive, which allows the player to more liberally switch Jellicent into Pokemon that it walls like Primeape. Thanks to its Ghost typing, Jellicent should be used as a spinblocker against spinners like Alolan Sandslash and Hitmonchan, although it must be wary of Toxic from the former and Thunder Punch from the latter. Even if Jellicent is in a position where spinners can wear it down or cripple it, Jellicent should be played aggressively to stop the opposing team from removing entry hazards. It is essential to keep Jellicent as healthy as possible and avoid being crippled by Toxic, as this puts Jellicent on a timer and hinders its longevity. Be wary when playing against status absorbers such as Gurdurr and Stoutland; you don't want to burn them with Scald or Will-O-Wisp or badly poison them with Toxic, as being statused increases their power greatly. When Colbur Berry is equipped, Jellicent should use Will-O-Wisp against Dark-type Pokemon like Skuntank and Alolan Raticate.

Team Options
========

As a defensive utility Pokemon and spinblocker, Jellicent fits well on many hazard stacking teams. As such, entry hazard users such as Ferroseed and Roselia work wonderfully with it. These two also have the added benefit of absorbing Toxic and, in the latter's case, Toxic Spikes for Jellicent and being solid Electric- and Grass-type switch-ins. In the same regard, Stealth Rock users also share defensive synergy with Jellicent. Stealth Rock users such as Regirock, Mudsdale, Alolan Sandslash, and Ferroseed make for good partners. Regirock, Mudsdale, and Ferroseed can take on Normal-types like Kangaskhan, while Alolan Sandslash can check Grass-type Pokemon like Abomasnow. In return, Jellicent can counter Fighting-type Pokemon such as Primeape, Hitmonchan, and Gurdurr. Entry hazard removal is very important, since Jellicent is worn down easily by all forms of entry hazards. Thus, spinners like Hitmonchan and Alolan Sandslash make for good partners. If Jellicent is not on a hazard stacking team, then Defog users such as Cryogonal, Lurantis, and Skuntank work just as well. Cryogonal also checks special attackers like Aurorus and Rotom-F, Lurantis can check Grass-type Pokemon and act as a cleric with Aromatherapy, and Skuntank can Pursuit trap troublesome Pokemon like Haunter and Alolan Raichu. Offensive Pokemon like Simisear and Lycanroc that are weak to Water-type Pokemon like Floatzel also appreciate Jellicent's defensive utility. Simisear also checks Grass-type Pokemon like Victreebel and Roselia, while Lycanroc can break Pokemon like Eelektross. Finally, Pokemon like Mudsdale and Eelektross can also help Jellicent against Electric-type Pokemon like Lanturn, while Pokemon like Oricorio-E take on Grass-types such as Victreebel, Lurantis, and Simisage.

move 2: Shadow Ball
move 3: Hydro Pump
move 4: Ice Beam / Trick
item: Choice Specs

nature: Modest
evs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe

[SET COMMENTS]

========

With maximum health and Water Spout, Jellicent can break through dedicated special walls such as Audino and Clefairy, and Water Spout's accuracy makes it easy to spam early-game when Jellicent is likely at full health. Shadow Ball is Jellicent's best Ghost-type STAB attack and hits Pokemon that are immune or resistant to Water Spout such as Jynx, Gastrodon, and Lanturn. Hydro Pump is a good alternative Water-type attack once Water Spout is weakened. Ice Beam is a good coverage attack that hits Grass- and Dragon-types like Lurantis and Drampa harder than Jellicent's other attacks. Trick is an option over Ice Beam due to its ability to cripple walls that switch into Jellicent such as Articuno and bulky pivot Lanturn.

Set Details
========

Maximum Speed investment ensures that Jellicent outspeeds Jolly Aggron and can revenge kill everything slower. Water Absorb is useful for regaining HP so Water Spout is powerful again.

Usage Tips
========

Jellicent is best used as an early- and mid-game wallbreaker due to its high damage output when at full health. Thus, try to keep Jellicent as healthy as possible throughout the match, preferably getting it in play through a slow pivot or well-played double switch. Water Spout is easily the most spammable move in Jellicent's arsenal, so use it when Jellicent is healthy and use Hydro Pump when Jellicent is weakened unless you cannot afford the accuracy drop in the given scenario. Jellicent should use Shadow Ball when predicting Water-immune Pokemon like Gastrodon and Jynx to switch in. If running Trick, make sure your opponent feels comfortable switching into Jellicent with their special wall first, or else you may mispredict and lose Jellicent's Choice Specs with no gain. Lastly, be wary of Pursuit users like Skuntank and Stoutland.

Team Options
========

Entry hazard setters such as Regirock, Roselia, and Alolan Sandslash pair well with Jellicent and bolster its offensive prowess. For example, Jellicent is able to 2HKO Ferroseed after Spikes damage. Entry hazard removal is mandatory to keep Jellicent as healthy as possible. Pokemon like Alolan Sandslash, Skuntank, and Silvally-Fairy can be useful additions for this role. The former two have the added utility of switching into Grass-types, while the last can be a designated Fighting-type check, since Jellicent doesn't function as one with its offensive set. Silvally-Fairy can also bring in Jellicent safely with Parting Shot or U-turn. Physical attackers such as Stoutland, Aggron, and Gurdurr pair well, as they can break through counters like Roselia, Lanturn, and Articuno. In return, Jellicent can break through the physical walls that threaten them, such as Regirock and Mudsdale. Additionally, Pokemon like Mudsdale, Eelektross, Roselia, Skuntank, and Oricorio-E that can switch into Electric- and Grass-type Pokemon make for good teammates. Lastly, Pokemon like Omastar, Gurdurr, Alolan Persian, and Carracosta that can take advantage of Skuntank after it uses Pursuit and Choice-locked Stoutland are very useful. Alolan Persian also provides Z-Parting Shot support, which essentially gives a second life to Jellicent.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]

Other Options
=============

An offensive set with Recover, Taunt, and two attacks with Waterium Z is an option to be much more threatening while still spinblocking and checking Gurdurr. However, Jellicent's mediocre Speed tier really hinders the functionality of this set. A Trick Room set can be run to make up for Jellicent's mediocre Speed tier; however, special walls like Audino can handle this set more easily. A specially defensive set can also be run to take on special attackers like Eelektross more easily, but this means that Jellicent will have trouble against physical attackers such as Kangaskhan.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Grass-types**: Grass-types such as Victreebel and Lurantis can switch into defensive Jellicent with little to no risk and threaten it out. However, some of them do not like Toxic or Will-O-Wisp and cannot handle attacks from the Choice Specs set.

**Electric-types**: Electric-types such as Lanturn and Eelektross can take hits from defensive Jellicent pretty easily and threaten it out with Volt Switch. However, Eelektross cannot take a Water Spout very well from Choice Specs Jellicent. Offensive Electric-types such as Alolan Raichu and Manectric also force it out and threaten to set up with Nasty Plot in the former's case.

**Pursuit Trappers**: Pursuit trappers like Stoutland and Skuntank easily can threaten Choice Specs Jellicent out and KO it with Pursuit. However, neither can switch into Jellicent and both dislike taking a Hydro Pump.

**Faster Taunt Users**: Faster Taunt users such as Alolan Persian and Oricorio-E can shut down defensive Jellicent by not allowing it to recover health or cripple Pokemon with status moves. Oricorio-E can even use it as setup fodder.

**Residual Damage**: Jellicent is vulnerable to all forms of entry hazards and also dislikes getting poisoned. This makes it difficult to check Pokemon it normally would like Gurdurr and weakens the power of Water Spout to the point where Hydro Pump is the most reliable attack on the Choice Specs set.

[OVERVIEW]

  • Jellicent is an interesting pokemon with a unique typing and stats, and its access to Recover+Will-O-Wisp allows it to stay healthy throughout the match and spread status effects, making it a great utility pokemon. It also allows it to check threats like Primeape and Alolan Sandslash. this is such a weirdly all over the place bullet idek. when u write it up it'll probably be better, but it's weird that this is all the time spent on utility specifically
  • It can also run a successful specs set due to its very powerful Water Spout and nice offensive dual STAB coverage, with its Ghost typing notably hitting things which resist water harder like Gastrodon and opposing Jellicent
  • It's Ghost typing allows it to act as a spinblocker, and it has a very strong matchup against most rapid spinners like Hitmonchan and Sandslash-Alola, though it loses to Freeze-Dry Cryogonal. This gives Jellicent a strong niche on hazard-stacking teams.
  • However, Jellicent is very prone to residual damage, though Taunt does mitigate this slightly taunt mitigates a status move weakness, not a residual damage weakness. It is also kind of passive when used defensively, allowing offensive threats such as Victreebel and Oricorio-E in for essentially no risk.
  • Specs Jellicent is heavily reliant on prediction and can be exploited by threats like Jynx, Lurantis, and Dodrio easily once locked in a move advantageous to your opponent. It also is very easily pursuit-trapped by things such as Stoutland and Skuntank. should be somewhat expanded to how both sets have a very double-edged defensive typing and get threatened by a lot of stuff even as they check gurdurr and omastar and w/e

  • Hex is the STAB move of choice due it's strong base power when hitting statused Pokemon, and nice neutral damage to the majority of the tier.
  • Taunt is used to stop set-up sweepers such as Carracosta as well as to prevent other defensive walls such as Quagsire and Gastrodon from recovering health back or using toxic on Jellicent.
  • Will-O-Wisp is used to cripple physical attackers like Skuntank and Sandslash-Alola.
  • Toxic can be used in place of Will-O-WIsp if the burn you feel is less useful for your team and you would rather cripple opposing walls. uh, never really seen this and it sounds highly questionable (cant u beat most targets just by taunting to prevent recovery?) but if ppl were fine with it ig it's not the worst. rly sounds more like a purely moves or OO thing though, I'd imagine more niche than scald
  • Scald is an option over Hex to have Water STAB which can be more useful against pokemon like Mudsdale and lets u touch stout/kanga/etc, but the power difference is not very noticeable on the things it hits harder and Hex generally will be dishing out more damage. Also, the chance of burn on Scald is unnecessary when you are already running Will-O-Wisp.
Set Details
========

  • Colbur Berry's damage reduction allows Jellicent to retaliate reliably with Will-O-Wisp against Dark-type Pokemon and grants it a better matchup against Pokemon with Dark-type coverage like Gurdurr.
  • Leftovers adds passive recovery, making Jellicent less easily worn down by chip damage. This also gives Jellicent a bit more breathing room to use its other attacks instead of clicking Recover more often.
  • The Speed lets Jellicent Taunt Carracosta before it can Shell Smash.
  • Cursed Body generally is more useful than water absorb, allowing you to get some clutch disables on pokemon such as Gurdurr and Kangaskhan which only have one move to break Jellicent, as well as choice-locked pokemon like Stoutland.
Usage Tips
========

  • This set is more defensive which allows the player to more liberally switch Jellicent into what it walls such as Gurdurr and Primeape. It also can be used to spinblock while staying healthy thanks to Recover.
  • It is essential to not let Jellicent get hit by Toxic, as this status effect puts Jellicent on a timer which will greatly hinder its longevity. It also nullifies Jellicent's ability to check some pokemon it normally would such as Gurdurr.
  • While Jellicent does do a good job as a spinblocker, it must be wary of coverage moves such as Hitmonchan's Thunder Punch.
  • Be careful when playing against status absorbers such as Gurdurr and Stoutland; you don't want to burn them with Scald. or wisp
  • When playing with Colbur Berry you can reliably Will-O-Wisp dark types like Skuntank and Alolan Raticate since you can tank one Dark Type attack with ease.
this feels short but i cant think of anything else to add either

Team Options
========

  • As a defensive utility pokemon which also has the role compression of being a spinblocker, Jellicent can fit well on many hazard-stacking teams. As such, spikes users such as Ferroseed and Roselia work wonderfully with it. These two also have the added benefit of absorbing Toxic and also being a solid Electric and Grass type switch-in.
  • In the same regard of being entry hazard-setters, pokemon which set up stealth rock and also share defensive synergy with Jellicent work really well. Again, Ferroseed can fill the role of a stealth rock setter if needed, as well as Regirock and Sandslash-Alola. Regirock has the defensive synergy of being the most reliable Normal Type counter in the tier, while Sandslash-Alola has the added role compression of being a rapid spin user. Jellicent also can switch into the fighting types these pokemon do not appreciate going against.
  • Rapid spin is very important because Jellicent can easily be worn down by all forms of entry hazards. Therefore, Hitmonchan and the previously mentioned Sandslash-Alola could work well for this role. If Jellicent is not on a hazard-stacking team, Defog users work just as well, such as Crygonal, Lurantis, and Rotom-Frost.
  • Offensive pokemon which are commonly checked by water types or fighting types are greatly appreciative of Jellicent, as it is a reliable switch-in when the opportunity arises. Pokemon like this are Simisear, Stoutland, Lycanroc, and Aggron.
this though could definitely be expanded a bit for elec checks, grass checks, rn only hazards and things that appreciate your defensive utility are talked about but jellicent needs support as well

  • Water Spout is the STAB Water Type move of choice with its very high base power and perfect accuracy. At max health you can break dedicated special walls such as Audino and Clefairy.
  • Shadow Ball is the STAB Ghost Type move of choice with respectable base power and perfect accuracy. It hits pokemon which are immune or resistant to Water Spout such as Jynx, Gastrodon, and Lanturn.
  • Hydro Pump is a good alternative Water Type move since Water Spout is weaker once weakened enough.
  • Ice Beam is good coverage to hit Grass types such as Roselia and Lurantis, as well as hitting Drampa harder.
  • Trick is an option over Ice Beam due to it's ability to cripple walls that switch into Jellicent such as Articuno and bulky pivot Lanturn.

  • Max speed ensures you outspeed Jolly Aggron and everything below, allowing you to revenge kill them instead of those threats being able to revenge kill you, despite Jellicent's poor speed.
  • Water Absorb is useful to regain hit points back with good prediction, making Water Spout powerful again.
Usage Tips
========

  • Jellicent is best used as an early to mid-game breaker due to its highest damage output window being when it is at full health. It should be used with the intention to break holes in the opponent's team.
  • Try to keep Jellicent as healthy as possible throughout the match, preferably getting it in play through a slow pivot or well-played double.
  • Water Spout is easily the most spammable move in the beginning when at max health, though you should use Shadow Ball if you predict water-immune pokemon like Gastrodon and Jynx switching in.

Will-O-Wisp is used to cripple physical attackers like Skuntank and Hitmonchan. Toxic can be used over Will-O-Wisp if your team values crippling opposing walls like Audino and Type: Null more. This set is more defensive which allows the player to more liberally switch Jellicent into Pokemon that it walls such as Gurdurr and Primeape (the gurdurr mu is dodgy tho. if you switch into a gurdurr at +1 then you're at a significant disadvantage. you can't burn it then hex because you're borderline killing yourself doing so). Thanks to its Ghost-typing, Jellicent should be used as a spinblocker against spinners like Alolan Sandslash and Hitmonchan, albeit it must be wary of Toxic from the former and Thunder Punch from the latter. When Colbur Berry is equipped, Jellicent should use Will-O-Wisp against Dark-type Pokemon like Skuntank and Alolan Raticate. Water Spout is Jellicent's strongest STAB Water-type attack with perfect accuracy. With max health, Jellicent can break through dedicated special walls such as Audino and Clefairy. Shadow Ball is Jellicent's best dual STAB attack, which hits Pokemon that are immune or resistant to Water Spout such as Jynx, Gastrodon, and Lanturn. Hydro Pump is a good alternative Water-type, once Water Spout is weakened. Ice Beam is a good coverage attack that hits Grass- and Dragon-types like Lurantis and Drampa harder. Thus, try to keep Jellicent as healthy as possible throughout the match, preferably getting it in play through a slow pivot or well-played double. Water Spout is easily the most spammable move in Jellicent's arsenal, so use it when Jellicent is healthy and use Hydro Pump when Jellicent is weakaned, unless you cannot afford the accuracy drop in the given scenario. Jellicent should use Shadow Ball if it predicts Water-immune Pokemon like Gastrodon and Jynx switching in. If running Trick, make sure your opponent feels comfortable switching into Jellicent with its special wall first, or else you may mispredict and lose your Choice Specs, with no gain. Lastly, be wary of Pursuit users like Skuntank and Stoutland.

Team Options
========

Pokemon like Alolan Sandslash, Skuntank, and Silvally Fairy can be useful additions for this role. The former two have the added utility of switching into Grass- types, while the latter can be a designated Fighting-type check since Jellicent doesn't function as once with its offensive set. Silvally-Fairy can also bring in Jellicent safely with Parting Shot or U-turn. Physical attackers such as Stoutland, Aggron, and Gurdurr pair well as they can break through counters like Roselia, Lanturn, and Articuno. in return, Jellicent can break through the physical walls that threaten them, such as Regirock and Mudsdale. Additionally, Pokemon that can switch into Electric- and Grass-type Pokemon like Skuntank, Roselia, Oricorio-E, Mudadale, and Lanturn make for good teammates (lant seems like super shit here ngl, i'd never double these two up). Lastly, Pokemon like Omastar, Gurdurr, and Carracosta that can take advantage of Skuntank after it uses Pursuit and Choice-locked Stoutland are very useful. (no z parting shot mention hello whut?)

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]

Other Options
=============

An offensive set with Recover, Taunt, and two attacks with Waterium Z is an option to be much more threatening while also still spin blocking and checking Gurdurr. However, its mediocre speed tier really hinders the function of this set. A Trick Room set can be run to make up for Jellicent's mediocre Speed tier; however, special walls like Audino can handle this set more easily. A specially defensive set can also be run to take on special attackers like Eelektross more easily, but this means that Jellicent will have trouble against physical attackers such as Kangaskan.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Grass Types**: Grass types such as Victreebel and Lurantis can switch into defensive Jellicent with little to no risk and threaten i out. However, some of them do not like Toxic or Will-O-Wisp and cannot handle attacks from the Specs set.

**Electric Types**: Electric-types such as Lanturn and Eelektross can take hits from defensive Jellicent pretty easily and threaten it out with Volt Switch. However, Eelektross cannot take a Water Spout very well from Specs Jellicent. Offensive Electric-types such as Alolan Raichu and Manetric also force it out and threaten to set up with Nasty Plot in the former's case.

**Pursuit Trappers**: Pursuit trappers like Stoutland and Skuntank easily can threaten Specs Jellicent out and KO it with Pursuit. However, neither can switch into Jellicent and dislike taking a Hydro Pump.

**Faster Taunt Users**: Faster taunt users such as Alolan Persian and the Oricorio-E can shut down defensive Jellicent by not allowing it to Recover health or inflict Pokemon with status moves. Oricorio-E can even use it as setup fodder.

**Residual Damage**: Jellicent is prone to all forms of entry hazards and also dislikes getting poisoned. This makes it difficult to check Pokemon it normally would like Gurdurr, and also weakens the power of Water Spout to the point where Hydro Pump is the most reliable attack on the Choice Specs set.

[OVERVIEW]

Jellicent is a great Pokemon in the PU metagame with an excellent defensive typing, helpful (or whatever adjective, needs one to fix parallelism issue though) stats, and access to good utility moves such as Recover and Will-O-Wisp, which allows it to stay healthy throughout the match and cripple Pokemon. Thanks to its aforementioned bulk, it can also check prevalent foes such as Primeape and Alolan Sandslash. Additionally, Jellicent can run a potent Choice Specs set,(RC) thanks to its powerful Water Spout and good offensive dual STAB coverage, with its Ghost-typing Shadow Ball notably hitting Pokemon like Ferroseed,(AC) Gastrodon,(AC) and Poliwrath hard, who that resist or are immune to (you can't list me two Pokemon immune to Water and say that they resist it. feel free to change the Ferroseed example to whatever else works) its Water-type attacks hard. Jellicent's useful Ghost typing also gives it a niche on hazard stacking(RH) teams, giving it a strong matchup against spinners like Hitmonchan and Alolan Sandslash, though specially defensive Hitmonchan (doesn't specially defensive Alolan Sandslash also run Toxic?) can cripple it with Toxic. Despite these attributes, Jellicent is very prone to residual damage, meaning that it can be worn down quite easily. Unfortunately,(RC) Jellicent is also passive when used defensively, allowing offensive threats such as special Victreebel and Oricorio-E in for essentially no risk, while Choice Specs Jellicent is heavily reliant on prediction and can be exploited by threats like Jynx, Lurantis, and Dodrio easily once locked into an attack. Finally, Jellicent is also easily pursuit-trapped Pursuit trapped by Pokemon such as Stoutland and Skuntank.

Moves
========

Hex is Jellicent's best STAB attack, turning into a 130-Base Power attack in conjunction with Will-O-Wisp and Toxic while dealing neutral damage against a majority of the tier. Scald is an option over Hex which that can be more useful against pokemon Pokemon like Mudsdale, Stoutland, and Kangaskhan,(AC) but the power difference is not very notable on against the Pokemon it hits harder,(AC) and Hex generally will be dishing out more damage (are you comparing Scald to a boosted Hex? I can't tell). Taunt is used to stop setup(RH) sweepers such as Carracosta as well as to prevent other defensive walls such as Quagsire and Gastrodon from recovering health back or crippling Jellicent with Toxic. Will-O-Wisp is used to cripple physical attackers like Skuntank and Hitmonchan. Toxic can be used over Will-O-Wisp if your team values crippling opposing walls like Eelektross and Cryogonal (I feel like every team appreciates crippling opposing walls though?).

Set Details
========

Colbur Berry's damage reduction allows Jellicent to retaliate and cripple Dark-type Pokemon like Skuntank with Will-O-Wisp,(AC) as well as granting it a better matchup against Pokemon with Dark-type coverage like Gurdurr. Leftovers is an option over Colbur Berry, giving Jellicent passive recovery and making it less easily worn down by chip damage. Leftovers also gives Jellicent a bit more breathing room to use its other attacks moves instead of clicking Recover when it's low. The Speed EVs allow Jellicent to outspeed and Taunt max maximum Speed Carracosta before it can use Shell Smash. Cursed Body generally is more useful than Water Absorb, allowing Jellicent to gain clutch disables on choice Choice-locked Pokemon like Stoutland and Pokemon such as Gurdurr and Kangaskhan, which only have one move to break Jellicent.

Usage Tips
========

This set is more defensive,(AC) which allows the player to more liberally switch Jellicent into Pokemon that it walls like Primeape. Thanks to its Ghost typing(RH), Jellicent should be used as a spinblocker against spinners like Alolan Sandslash and Hitmonchan, albeit it must be wary of Toxic from the former and Thunder Punch from the latter. Even against spinners that it can lose to on hazard stack teams, Jellicent should be played aggressively to stop the opponent from removing entry hazards Even if Jellicent is in a position where spinners can wear it down or cripple it, Jellicent should be played aggressively to stop the opponent from removing entry hazards.(talked with tondas over Discord and this phrasing is apparently better) It is essential to keep Jellicent as healthy as possible and avoid being crippled by Toxic, as this puts Jellicent on a timer and hinders its longevity. Be wary when playing against status absorbers such as Gurdurr and Stoutland; you don't want to burn them with Scald or Will-O-Wisp or badly poison them with Toxic, as being statused increases their power greatly.(tondas approve) When Colbur Berry is equipped, Jellicent should use Will-O-Wisp against Dark-type Pokemon like Skuntank and Alolan Raticate instead of switching out(?).

Team Options
========

As a defensive utility Pokemon and spinblocker, Jellicent fits well on many hazard stacking(RH) teams. As such, entry hazard users such as Ferroseed and Roselia work wonderfully with it. These two also have the added benefit of absorbing Toxic and,(AC) in the latter's case,(AC) Toxic Spikes,(RC) in the latter's case,(RC) for Jellicent and being solid Electric- and Grass-type switch-ins. In the same regard, Stealth rock Rock users also share defensive synergy with Jellicent. Stealth Rock users such as Regirock, Mudsdale, Alolan Sandslash, and the aforementioned Ferroseed make for good partners. Regirock, Mudsdale, and Ferroseed can take on Normal-types like Kangaskhan, while Alolan Sandslash can check Grass-type Pokemon like Abomasnow for Jellicent. In return, Jellicent can counter Fighting-type Pokemon such as Primeape, Hitmonchan, and Gurdurr for these Pokemon. Entry hazard removal is very important,(AC) since Jellicent is worn down easily by all forms of entry hazards. Thus, spinners like Hitmonchan and the aforementioned Alolan Sandslash make for good partners. If Jellicent is not on a hazard stacking(RH) team, then Defog users such as Crygonal Cryogonal, Lurantis, and Skuntank work just as well. Crygonal Cryogonal also checks special attackers like Aurorus and Rotom-F,(semicolon -> comma) Lurantis can check Grass-type Pokemon and act as a cleric thanks to its with Aromatherapy, while and Skuntank can pursuit Pursuit trap troublesome Pokemon like Haunter and Alolan Raichu for Jellicent. Offensive Pokemon like Simisear and Lycanroc that are weak to Water-type Pokemon like Floatzel also appreciate Jellicent's defensive utility. Simisear also checks Grass-type Pokemon like Victreebel and Roselia, while Lycanroc can break Pokemon like Eelektross for Jellicent. Finally, Pokemon like Mudsdale and Eelektross can also help Jellicent against Electric-type Pokemon like Lanturn, while Pokemon like Oricorio-E take on Grass-types such as Victreebel, Lurantis, and Simisage.

Moves

Water Spout is Jellicent's strongest STAB Water-type attack with perfect accuracy.(this falls under that umbrella of fluff) With max maximum health and Water Spout, Jellicent can break through dedicated special walls such as Audino and Clefairy, and Water Spout's accuracy makes it easy to spam early-game when Jellicent is likely at full health (tondas approve). Shadow Ball is Jellicent's best dual Ghost-type STAB attack,(RC) which and hits Pokemon that are immune or resistant to Water Spout such as Jynx, Gastrodon, and Lanturn. Hydro Pump is a good alternative Water-type,(RC) attack once Water Spout is weakened. Ice Beam is a good coverage attack that hits Grass- and Dragon-types like Lurantis and Drampa harder than Jellicent's other attacks. Trick is an option over Ice Beam due to it's its ability to cripple walls that switch into Jellicent such as Articuno and bulky pivot Lanturn.
