Obviously this trade was made for the Red Sox to get a little extra cash to sign a pitcher, but really, i think this trade was made months too late. Now the best free agent pitcher available is Edwin Jackson, and even if the Sox land him, they still dont have as solid of a rotation as the yanks. And really Ben Cherington, Clayton Mortenson was the best you could do? He has a 5.12 ERA in the National League, which means that he will be virtually useless for the sox. The best thing that could ever happen to the yankees was Theo leaving, that guy was amazing. It really is a good time to be a yankees fan.
